In this mini-course, I (GM Damian Lemos) show you how to take the sting out of ALL of White’s attacking ideas in the King’s Gambit!

If you’re meeting 1.e4 with …e5, you simply have to know what to against this super-aggressive opening.

With the tips I give you, you will be able to navigate your way to safety AND either hold on to the extra pawn or get a much more active position than your rival!

Here’s what to expect:

  • Strike back in the center and keep your pawn! I recommend a line with Michael Adams’ 6…Be6! that gives you a clear advantage by the time you shock them with 9…c4! Even Hikaru Nakamura walked into this line, so you can be sure it will work against your local rivals!
  • The Tomashevsky trick! King’s Gambit players love to line up their forces at your kingside… but I show you how set up a deceptive and timely queenside castle, granting you king safety and initiating an unstoppable kingside pawn storm of your own!
  • Stun ’em with Mamedyarov’s knight sac! There’s a super-tricky Qe2 idea in the King’s Gambit that leads to total CHAOS… but this incredible sacrifice not only takes the sting out of Qe2, but immediately turns the tables, earning Black a murderous attack!
